We care about each of you as a community of students, staff, families, and school partners. To move our words to actions, (school name) joined the We Care Schools movement. ‘Students don’t care what you know until they know that you care’ is an accepted truth teachers attempt to apply individually. We Care School move discouraging realities of teachers caring alone to powerful possibilities of school communities caring together.
We ask you to join us in prioritizing and cultivating the powers of caring together as we, the (school name) community, answer a north star opportunity question that frames our learning by doing:
Imagine our school community creating pathways to a culture of caring as the foundation for learning and community, what does that look like?
As a We Care School, the caring culture we create together becomes the soil from which we grow to our potential wholeness and the foundation upon which we build community. The culture we create together will be unique to the relationships within our community.
Our pathfinding to a culture of caring adapts Community Renewal model principles and practices that build on another important reality: ‘Caring relationships are our most valuable and value-creating resource.’ (school name) will participate in a Community Renewal Institute guided We Care Schools Community of Practice that shares new knowledge being generated from each school’s experiments and innovations.
Fully engaged We Care Schools are seeing remarkable improvements in systemic education challenges: behavior, attendance, teacher retention, teacher satisfaction, school performance, and test scores. If you would like to learn more visit We Care Schools.
